The World of Dogs is the wildly popular Public Television series featuring full-episode biographies of the world’s most popular breeds. Each episode offers an in-depth and moving portrait of one particular breed, including history, features and characteristics. The episodes also highlights training tips, health issues and special uses in search-and-rescue, therapy or other applications.


Featuring the world’s top breeders and judges, The World of Dogs is hosted by actress and singer Pat Becker and outdoors expert Tim Hartman.


The World of Dogs first aired on PBS stations in 2004 and has since become a perennial favorite. The series includes:

Ep. #6: Chihuahuas

The World of Dogs was produced by Catherine Labrador, exec produced by Alice Donenfeld and written and directed by Jean-Pierre Isbouts. The series was made possible by a grant from the Wallis Foundation of Oklahoma.
